Introduce Yourself

Hi, this is Colin from Coventry Handball Club. After the Olympics I was in exactly the same situation - desperate to play Handball but with no clubs nearby. So, I decided to get the ball rolling myself. I set up a Facebook page, Twitter account and eventually found a couple of guys interested in helping to set up the club. We did a bit of promo, found a venue and tomorrow night will be our third session. Awareness of the club is growing day by day and we're starting to attract both players with some experience and plenty of enthuiastic novices.
The workload in setting up a new club is considerable, but if you put the hours in it's very rewarding in the longer term. We've still got a long way to go but we've got every reason to believe the club has a bright future.
I hope you find a club soon, or perhaps you might want to set one up yourself. If so, I'd be happy to help in anyway that I can, either by giving advice or simply spreading the word on Twitter. You'll find on Twitter plenty of the Team GB players are equally happy to spread the word to help you get in touch with other Handball fans in your area.
